Friends Handicraft of Nepal was founded to help prevent women from being trafficked into the commercial sex industry. It's founders took training in felt construction and stitching and then went on to source large rolls of felt from other countries. Today they have successfully trained 125 women who have come from villages in and around Nepal. These women are either high risk for being trafficked, from very low income families, single mothers or disadvantaged women.

Hope Marketplace was able to purchase this product through Made By Survivors, a non-profit organization working in partnership with Friends Handicraft in order to make their goods available for sale in the United States.
